WHAT IS GOVERNOR? WHAT DOES IT DO?

The governor is the main element that allows the engine to rotate at a constant speed by opening the fuel system, adjusting the amount of fuel and closing the fuel path. There are mechanical and electronic types, and electronic types that can be remotely controlled are used in synchronous systems.

The cables coming from the actuator on the fuel pump and the pick-up signal cable on the engine flywheel are connected to the connection terminals on it.

When the diesel engine is commanded to run, the governor unit is fed, the actuator output is energized according to the signal voltage coming from the flywheel and the fuel path is opened. The speed setting on it keeps the frequency constant as it is set and as long as the engine is running, it continues to read the signal coming from the flywheel and if the speed drops, it continues to increase the voltage with the signal it sends to the actuator and stabilizes the speed of the engine.
